For several years, we have created Christmas cards for our family and friends. Upon receiving them this year, I immediately opened them and see how they turned out. I was really excited until my husband pointed out I had misspelled a word, laughing as he said this by the way. I was horrified!! I always look at these things closely. Then again, at 1am when I was sorting through the different cards, trying to put together one I liked with the hand full of decent photos we had; I really could have missed something. And thinking back I realized I was so concerned about colors and layouts that I did not double check the text. Sure enough, I had misspelled a word. Can you find it?!
It could be worst…really. And unless you are really looking closely will anyone know?! Probably, but the cute photo of the kids will avert their eyes…right?! So, after being horrified for about 5 minutes I started to joke around with my husband about a Christmas card misspelling game. We joked about points and what you could do to have fun with family and friends. Here are the scores we have determined so far:
- Misspell small words (the, at, ect.) 20 points
- Misspell holiday words 50 points
- Misspell the family’s last name on purpose... and get away with it! 100 points
- Misspell a family member’s name 125 points
- Forget a family member’s name from the card (see if anyone notices…) 150 points
My score: 20 points
To all of you during this holiday season, I hope you enjoy! I hope you remember no one is perfect and the real reason for the season. Because if you can’t laugh some of these little things off then you will just be plain miserable! And for us…well I guess I will just have to put this card in our December Daily book with an awesome note about my blunder…and probably the score card…just for fun. And some day some great laughs!
