With Thanksgiving right around the corner and many people planning their meals or dishes to bring, I wanted to post a family favorite! This started as a recipe from my aunt and evolved to include fresh and frozen fruit versus canned fruit. So if you are looking for something fast for Thanksgiving, you might want to try this!
Hot Fruit Dish*
Ingredients:
- 1 apple chopped (I used Pink Lady apples)
- 1 pear chopped
- 2 cups frozen pineapple
- 2 cups frozen peaches
- 1 cup frozen cherries
- 10 shakes cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground cloves
- Whipped Cream (optional)
Method:
Place fruit in oven safe dish in order of listed ingredients. Sprinkle the cinnamon on top and then the cloves. Cook in oven for 1.5 hours at 250 degrees.
Enjoy warm! For an extra special treat add whipped cream when served.
* This recipe makes a small version of this dish. If you need it for a larger crowd I would suggest doubling everything.
Have A Happy Thanksgiving!
P.S. I have an upcoming post on what I have been up to lately... as it has been a little while since I have blogged...
